I trust all is well with you all. Well, I'm hoping so.
OK - here is some more behind-the-scenes footage of what happened in the creation of our single, 'Jam Hot'. I call it 'Koolism IV: The 'Jam Hot' Sessions. Ep. 2: The Boom Boom Room'.
Who needs a $1000 000 major label studio???
Damn... if the walls of this spot could talk. They'd tell you some sh*t.
Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes shenanigans!
Easy as pie. Grow your hair to crazy proportions and copy what this crazy fulla does. If you CAN, that is! Good luck.
Oh! Before we get into that - let's get into this...
This is the first post since the new year of 2009 reared it's beautiful/ ugly head. So Happy New Year to all our supporters and doubters. I hope you all kept safe and are ready to live your lives to the fullest.
'09, for my wife, myself and my family, unfortunately, started off with a heartbreak. A close relative passed away NYE and we're still coming to grips with it. But we're keeping strong. Acknowledging the fact that that's how life is. Big shouts to Jason, Aliki and the rest of the family. We'll miss you, Mele. Here's to you!
But just as one soul is taken away, another one arrives. Big shouts, blessings and love to Cammui and the man like Tunks, who are expecting their second child to accompany little Asha. Word 'em up. And so the dynasty begins.
OK... Back to the behind-the-scenes footage. DANIELSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!
Sending out a mission for all Koolism supporters to complete.
It has come to that time of the year when triple j compile their 'Hottest 100' list voted by YOU the listener. We're up for a nomination for our single, 'Jam Hot' so it would be much appreciated if you took out the time to vote for it. Haha. That sounded a little condescending, didn't it?
Well, for those up for the task. It's easy as pie. Hit up the triple j voting page HERE and click the 'by artist' link. Do a search for 'Jam Hot', fill out the required bits and pieces and bob's your uncle!
Much thanks for those willing to help some brothers out. To those not - I'll be sending big fella in the photo above around to your place. Haha...
OK - hope all is well out there. Catch you all up in a bit.
PS: That character above was done by Seth (KOA) at Bondi Beach for the KOA 20th Anniversary throwdown.
Just dropping in to wish you all a Merry Christmas (if you celebrate this day, that is. Even if you don't - Merry Christmas anyway!). I hope you are all well and are keeping safe. Damn... I've already had three family Christmas dinners and have two more to go. Far out - I think I've put on 5kgs! All good though. I'm very fortunate to be able to do that and to have opportunities to spend time with family and eat well. So on that note, I'm sparing some thoughts and prayers for those not with us and for those less fortunate than we.
As a little gesture of love and appreciation, we've put up our new single, 'Jam Hot', on our myspace page to download and enjoy throughout the festive season.
So keep safe. Eat heaps. Love lots. Catch you before '08 is outta here. Peace and blessings... Hauie
What's up to all my Melbournians and surrounding area crew.
We'll be playing our first show in donkey's years (how many is that exactly???) a long side TZU, Illzilla and... well, you can check the flyer for all the details.
So come down and hang out with us to get in that festive mood. It'll be tops!
What it is, peoples. Yes - it is finally here! Our new single titled, Jam Hot, has hit the airwaves and will hopefully reach you folks out there in radio land. Keep an ear out for it. Stay tuned for how to grab yourself a copy.
If you dig it, request Jam Hot on the lovely Rosie's show, 'Super Request' on triple j.
Much thank you's and praises to our supporters for holding tight for the last three years. It has been quite an uphill battle, but hey...what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, right? Riiight??? (Check me out - getting my HTML language on...haha)
Anyway, I hope it was worth the wait. Stay tuned for the full-length.
The Beast goes in to do what he does best. And that's rappity rap.
A make-shift studio was set up in the infamous Boom Boom Room (location disclosed). This place has a rich history and so we decided to set up in there to feed off it's vibes and tradition...
Yes, I know folks. This sort of thing is illegal. And I did feel like a naughty little kid taking money from his mum's purse. But I had to do it so I can then do the internet thing to share it with my fellow Stevie Wonder fans.
I filmed this at the Acer Arena in October. Hands down - best concert I have been to. And I have been to a lot. Jay-Z, Kanye, Ultramagnetic MCs, U2, Dizzee Rascal, Common, Tricky, The Ting Tings etc etc etc. But this?!?! Incredible.
Anyway, here is the maestro rockin' the vocoder. After watching this I thought how mad it would've been to see Zapp live in concert. T-Pain - I hope you're watching and taking down notes. You too, Kanye.
OK, I'm gonna keep it short and sweet. Yes - it was a momentous occasion. Yes - it was an historic win. Yes - it felt, like my hip hop brethren in the States say, 'gooder than a muhf**cka!'.
But hold up! People have to keep on this man's back to deliver all the hope, faith and promises he seems to represent. But it's a good start though, right?
Here is I with my surgically attached camera in a spot in Sydney when folks got to witness Mr. Barack Obama's big win.
